#Shelfie: Books, Books, Books....
I thought I'd do a little post today all about my books. Before I started uni I probably had one or two shelves of books; now I have a bookcase full and a few piles on the floor. At the end of first and second year I sold a few that I didn't think I'd read again, but on the whole I've kept most of them and so have now acquired a rather large collection.
I have a 'favourites' shelf, which has all my Harry Potter books on it (of course), along with Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, F.Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being A Wallflower, Michelle Magorian's Goodnight Mr Tom (an old childhood favourite) and all three of Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones books. I love love love my copy of Gatsby - it's one of the Penguin limited edition covers and my best friend's parents bought it for me for my birthday last year. Perks is just perfect - I feel like it's become a bit of a cult thing now, a book everybody has to read. I love it, and I loved the film, too.
I also have a magazine stash on there, mostly Vogue and Elle, and other mags with people I like on the cover. I've got Adele's UK Vogue cover, Johnny Depp on GQ and Russell Brand's cover of Esquire. I like to hoard them, not sure why.
Another shelf has random books like Very British Problems, Twitterature, University Challenged etc, all of which are hilarious. A load of knick knacks seem to have found their home on there too and I've ended up with lip balms, hand creams, a photo of my best friend and I in Disneyworld, a Snow White doll and heaven knows what else. I love bookcases and love looking at other people's. Bit book nosey. If I had my own place I'd love one of those entire walls that's just a bookcase. Ahhhh.
